Community members came together in LaGrangeville Friday for the first home game since a teen lost his life following a football game three weeks ago.
Arlington's colors are maroon and gold, but for Friday's home game against North Rockland, many fans wore blue because that was Quraan Smith's favorite color.
The 16-year-old junior at Arlington High School was stabbed to death during a fight in the parking lot after going to a football game there last month.
The school honored Smith before kickoff by bringing family members onto the field for a special pre-game dedication.
A moment of silence was held, and the family was presented with a $12,000 check from community donations collected through the grocer Adams Fairacre Farms. It was also announced that there will be a scholarship made in Smith's honor, which will be given to a student in his graduating class.
