A family in Somers got an ?extreme? surprise when they returned to their home Wednesday.
The Arena family?s small house was rebuilt, courtesy of the television show ?Extreme Makeover Home Edition.? While the family enjoyed a vacation at Disney World, also courtesy of the show, firefighters from all over northern Westchester knocked down the old house on Buenta Way. Volunteers worked at top speed to put the finishing touches on the new house before the family returned.
The Arenas were touched by tragedy in September when their 6-year-old son, Jimmy, died of a brain tumor. Now, they can enjoy a new two-story 3,600 square foot house to share with their six daughters and the baby boy on the way.
