They're far from the North Pole but some local elves are helping the Salvation Army put together bags of toys for some Rockland families this Christmas Season.
A giant room at the Salvation Army office on Main Street in Spring Valley looks a little like Santa's workshop. Scores of volunteers have spent the last few days sorting through close to 1,500 toys that have been donated as part of their Christmas drive.
Approximately 450 families signed up to receive the gifts in which they could ask for two wishes to be filled for each child in their home.
Along with the toys, families will also get a turkey and a grocery store gift card so they can enjoy a holiday meal.
All the toys will be given out on Thursday.
