7h agoGov. Phil Murphy issued a state of emergency for parts of northern New Jersey due to the impending nor’easter storm.
The state of emergency impacts Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties.
The governor also says that state offices will have a two-hour delayed opening on Tuesday due to the storm.
A commercial vehicle travel restriction is also in effect on multiple highways around the state.
Drivers are urged to use caution the roadways since visibility is expected to be limited. Drivers should also be aware of road crews and snowplows and are encouraged to give these crews plenty of room to work.
No changes to New Jersey Transit service are expected.
The nor’easter is expected to bring heavy rain and gusty wind to the state. Parts of northern New Jersey in higher elevations could see several inches of snow.
