Republican members of the state Legislature are calling for a special session to address the ongoing migrant crisis.
Party leaders from both the state Senate and Assembly, including Hudson Valley members Peter Oberacker, Bill Weber and Rob Rolison, co-signed a letter to Gov. Kathy Hochul Friday calling for additional funding for affected areas, revoking sanctuary statuses and giving local municipalities more control.
More than 100,000 migrants have arrived in the five boroughs from the southern border since last April.
It's unclear if Hochul or Democratic members of the Legislature are willing to call the session.
Hochul met with White House officials this week to demand help with the growing situation.
