The News 12 New Jersey Storm Watch Team is monitoring a storm system that is expected to bring heavy rain and flooding to parts of the state.
A flood watch is in effect for parts of northeastern New Jersey through Tuesday morning.
Meteorologist Dave Curren says there is also the possibility for some of New Jersey’s highest elevations to see a bit of snow by the morning.
Curren says that the worst of the weather will happen Monday night into Tuesday morning. Strong winds will also pose a problem from around 10 p.m. Monday until around 5 a.m. Tuesday. These winds have the possibility of causing property damage and power outages.
The storms will clear out by late Tuesday morning. The rest of the day should see some clouds, with windy weather. Daytime highs will be around 55 degrees. Tuesday night will see mostly clear skies and overnight lows around 40 degrees.
Wednesday will see mostly sunny skies, with some scattered clouds. Daytime highs will be in the upper-50s. Wednesday night will be clear to partly cloudy. Overnight lows will be around 44 degrees.
