Thousands of people across the Hudson Valley are still without power after Monday's all-day storm.
Con Edison says parts of northern Westchester, including Cortlandt, Peekskill, Yorktown, and Ossining, were some of the hardest-hit areas.
Between Con Edison, Orange and Rockland, NYSEG, and Central Hudson, there are over 27,000 customers without power.
At the peak of the storm, the number was close to double that, but Con Edison says it has restored power to nearly half its customers that got shut down. Officials say they have brought in over 90 extra crews to work on the problems.
Losing power is frustrating on its own, but it's particularly troubling during the coronavirus outbreak. More people are staying home and relying on the internet to work from home and teach their children -- neither works without power.
Utility companies are stressing that residents stay away from any down wires and to immediately call your local authorities.
