A bus carrying 49 children and two adults crashed on Anawana Lake Road in Sullivan County on Monday, injuring 12 people.
The accident occurred around 1 p.m. when the bus, driven by 53-year-old Walter Simon, ran off the road and struck a tree. Troopers say Simon lost control of the vehicle.
Ten children and two adults were transported to Ellenville and Garnet Hospital-Catskill for treatment of minor injuries. The children who were on board are between the ages of 4 and 10.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
