Thousands of Orange County government employees have yet to receive their W-2 forms because of a computer glitch.
A county spokesperson says about 2,800 employees are without the proper forms to file their income taxes, and the Internal Revenue Service says the workers are still responsible for meeting the April 15 deadline.
Employers are required by law to mail out W-2 forms by Jan. 31, though the county was given a 30-day extension by the IRS because of the computer system problem.
Orange County Executive Ed Diana wasn't available for comment, but a spokesperson says the county plans to send out W-2 forms by the end of the month.
Workers with questions can contact the IRS at 800-829-1040.
