A suspended Spring Valley officer was in court Friday for the first day of his corruption trial.
David LeBron is accused of warning local bars before they were raided, working as a private security guard while in uniform, and soliciting sex while on duty.
Lebron has denied all allegations against him, saying that the charges are in response to a discrimination lawsuit he filed against the Spring Valley Police Department last year.
The officer?s lawyers say the case may end in a mistrial because key evidence from 2002 to 2003 may have been destroyed by former Spring Valley Police Chief Anthony Furco. Prosecutors say they will present the necessary documents against LeBron when the case resumes on Monday.
