Veterinary Technician Pam Sprotsky and her colleagues from Valley Cottage Animal Hospital are heading to Baton Rouge to offer their services to pets that have been injured and separated from their families during the recent hurricane turmoil. Leaving behind a ?family member? may be why many were reluctant to initially evacuate at all. Those who did evacuate their homes and then shelters were unable to bring along their pets or rescue them afterwards. The animals abandoned in the damaged areas face many health issues including dehydration and lack of clean water. There are websites now available to help link evacuee owners with their missing pets.
