Volunteers team up to help Dutchess County residents get vaccinated

Many of the people they are helping have come from a local COVID-19 resource Facebook group that has been connecting their members to each other since the pandemic began.

Dasha Hermosilla, from Viriginia, and Anna Shah, from Poughkeepsie, have teamed up to start a vaccination appointment assistance team.

They started earlier this year after helping their parents get a shot.

  Since then, they have been scouring pharmacy websites and signing up more than 150 struggling Hudson Valley residents.  

Many of the people they are helping have come from a local COVID-19 resource Facebook group that has been connecting their members to each other since the pandemic began.

Their advice for those who are struggling to get an appointment is to be persistent and don't be afraid to ask someone for help - even if it's online.
