Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins is proposing a $425.7 million capital budget for 2027, targeting areas such as transportation and infrastructure.
The proposal includes over $161 million to improve water systems and $75 million for affordable housing.
It also includes $25 million for infrastructure upgrades to improve roadway safety and flooding mitigation, which County Executive Jenkins says is needed as a responsibility to make investments that better protect residents as severe weather becomes more frequent.
Additionally, the budget looks to improve transportation, with more than $12 million proposed for the Bee-Line bus system and $50 million for Westchester County Airport.
