The Westchester County Jail has been re-accredited by the American Correctional Association for the fifth time.
In a news release, the county says it has received 100% compliance of the 59 mandatory standards and 99.67% of the 303 non-mandatory standards.
The ACA judges based their decision on the quality of services, programs, health care, and security operations of each correctional facility.
The county jail first received accreditation in 2009. At the time, it was the first large jail in the state to do so, and the 71st in the country.
