Westchester County officials are urging the community to get the COVID-19 shot ahead of the winter months.
County Executive George Latimer tells News 12 that COVID-19 cases continue to rise, and what the future holds could become far worse.
"This clearly is the delta, the delta variant impact, and it has taken us from where we were at the end of the month in June...under 200 active cases...to the numbers that we have as of yesterday, Sunday, Aug. 22...where we had 2,793," said Latimer.
For those who still need to get the shot, the Westchester County Center accepts walk-ins for vaccinations. It's open seven days a week, starting at 8 a.m.
