The Willis Avenue community garden in Mott Haven was officially reopened Thursday after months of renovations.
The site was transformed with the help of New York Restoration Project, the nonprofit founded by actress and singer Bette Midler, who attended the reopening.
Community members say they can now use the garden as both an educational venue and a place to host events.
The garden now has 24 raised planting beds, a butterfly garden and a new trellis. The garden will even be getting Wi-Fi in the future.
