Yonkers residents are campaigning to protect city’s
growing stray animal population
The Citizen’s Group says Yonkers is filled with hundreds of stray animals who
need homes.
The group is asking for a low-cost spay and
neuter clinic be created to control the number of stray cats and kittens born
on the street who are often sick or abused.
Animal activists say there is currently a clinic
at the Yonkers Animal Shelter that could be used for the low-cost spay and neuter program.
They hope that the mayor’s office will offer the support they need to get the
program underway.
