Yonkers police: 30-year-old Bronx man killed near Woodbine Street

Police say the suspect assaulted the male victim Friday at around 6:30 p.m.

Yonkers police say it was a 30-year-old Bronx man who died in their investigation into a homicide that happened Friday night.

Police say the suspect assaulted the male victim near Woodbine Street at around 6:30 p.m.

Yonkers police say they received a call that at least one person was injured.

Detectives say first responders attempted to save his life but he died from his injuries at the hospital. Investigators did not go into details of the nature of those injuries.

Yonkers police had not released the name of the victim as of Saturday night, pending family notifications.

Detectives say there is no active risk to the public.

Some roads that were closed Friday night and throughout Saturday during the police investigation have since reopened. Woodbine Street was closed between Blackford Avenue and Glen Road, Blackford Avenue was closed between Sterling and Hyatt avenues, and Glen Road was closed between Sterling and Hyatt avenues.
