A new study has found that two doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine are 70% effective against the omicron variant.
The study out of South Africa says the two Pfizer doses are 70% effective at preventing hospitalization and 33% effective at preventing infections.
The study was performed by South Africa Insurance Company Discovery Limited and examined about 78,000 omicron cases from Nov. 15 to Dec. 7.
They say the protection is the same across age groups and illness.
