As the nation commemorates the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, some Bronx residents gathered Friday morning at Jacobi Medical Center for a memorial service.
As somber music played, hospital staff and elected officials shared memories of that sunny morning eight years ago. Flowers and wreaths were later laid on a slab of granite etched with names of those who died in the attacks.
Officials say they are working on attaining a piece of the World Trade Center rubble as an addition to the memorial site.
