Dozens were temporarily left without power after a car accident caused downed power lines in northern Westchester Monday.Officials say about 50 homes lost power for about four hours.
The accident happened on Route 35 at Boutonville Road in Lewisboro at around 9:30 a.m. causing the major roadway to be temporarily closed.
Police say the driver of a van lost control and plowed into a utility pole. The driver was not injured and was not brought up on any charges.
Officials say crews cleaned up oil and restored the transformer. They anticipate having a new pole in place later Monday.
Route 35 is partially open.
