The chief of staff for Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann is accused of spying for his boss at a disciplinary hearing for suspended Clarkstown Police Chief Michael Sullivan. 

Sullivan is accused of two dozen charges, including coincidentally illegal surveillance. According to the town's own code, there is no recording allowed at the disciplinary hearing of the suspended Sullivan.

However, defense attorney Richard Glickel says he caught Vincent Balascio spying for his boss Tuesday behind closed doors in a nearby equipment room that has a direct audio and video feed into the room where the hearing was held.

William Harrington is trying the case against Sullivan, who is facing nearly two dozen disciplinary charges.

Sullivan's attorney says since any recording could interfere with testimony, there are grounds to throw out the case when the hearing continues next month.

Sullivan is running against Supervisor George Hoehmann in the November election. Hoehmann did not return News 12 calls for comment.
