The U.S. Attorney's Office says 32-year-old Matthew Mills, of Colorado, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a federal court judge in White Plains.
Officials say in July 2020, Mills exchanged text messages with an 11-year-old and directed him to take and transmit sexually explicit images and send them to him.
Earlier that year, Mills pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child in Colorado.
He was sentenced to eight years probation and required to register as a sex offender.
