Drivers in Westchester and Hudson Valley may soon have to shell out extra cash if they travel into Manhattan.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg's (R-NYC) congestion pricing plan is getting a $350 million boost from the federal government, but the plan is not without controversy. The plan is designed to ease congestion going into Manhattan by charging drivers $8 and truckers $21 to travel below 86th Street.

Drivers at the Ardsley rest stop say there are other solutions to ease traffic. Many drivers say even though the plan is trying to get commuters to use public transportation, they would still rather drive.

Federal funds that would help put the plan into effect are contingent on the New York City Council and the state Legislature approving the plan.
