Cornwall
Middle School principal Kate Polumbo was given the Middle School Principal of the Year title by the School Administrators Association of New York
State last week.
News 12
is told principals from statewide districts are considered and chosen for the
annual award based on their commitment to excellence, school programs and
connections to parents and the community.
Polumbo
says she’s very excited and humbled to have been chosen this year.
“There’s
a lot of people at my job, especially the middle school, that are working so
hard, so I don’t feel like I’m
the best,” says Polumbo. “We work really hard here to make a great school.”
The
Anti-Defamation League named Cornwall Middle School a Gold Star school in 2019
and 2020 for its No Place for Hate
initiative under Polumbo’s administration.
