Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro delivered his State of the County address Wednesday in Pine Plains.
Molinaro says the $40 million budget gap that he was left with has now turned into a $60 million surplus.
During the address, Molinaro said funding will be invested into public health and safety measures. He also voiced support for the Castle Point VA Medical Center.
"We intend to push back in a bipartisan fashion and stand with our veterans to ensure no reduction of services are provided in Dutchess County," says Molinaro.
Molinaro says money will also be put towards upgraded infrastructure, such as water and sewers, to support mixed-income housing developments.
