Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Two people are in recovery this morning after being attacked by a dog in Fishkill. Police say it happened around 4 p.m. yesterday near Thomas Avenue and Geering Park. They say the dog's owner was taking it for a walk when it broke free and started attacking a 14-year-old girl. The owner then tried to protect the young victim by covering the teen with her own body during the attack. Both were seriously hurt. When officers got to the scene, they were able to pull the dog away. The animal is being housed at Dutchess County SPCA and an investigation is ongoing.
An indictment is expected today in an arson investigation in the Town of Newburgh. That announcement will be coming from Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler after an investigation by multiple agencies.
A former Marist College volleyball coach could spend up to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to taking videos of male players in the locker room. Richard Kelly, 51, admitted to 10 felony counts of unlawful surveillance according to the Dutchess County DA. His sentencing is next month.
