Mario
Mateos, 22, of Middletown, faces up to 13 years behind
bars after pleading guilty to assault. He confessed
to shooting two 16-year-olds at the intersection of Barcelow
Street and Seward Avenue in Port Jervis last September. Both teens survived the attack.
The
man who jumped into a News 12 vehicle for cover after being shot in Mount
Vernon Wednesday night is in stable condition. The victim was part of two separate shootings in Mount Vernon that night shortly
after a nearby vigil was held for rapper
DMX. News 12’s crew was wrapping up on that story
when the shots rang out. No arrests have been made.
The
Port Chester School Board president has been voted out effective
immediately. Thomas Corbia was under fire since
racist comments attributed to him came to light on Facebook. He claims his account was hacked.
