Holtec International, the owners of Indian Point Power Plant in Buchanan, is suing the state of New York.

The company claims a state law banning discharge of radiological water into the Hudson River oversteps federal law in nuclear safety.

In a statement released by Holtec, the company says the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has the sole authority over radiological discharges from nuclear power plants.
