A Hudson Valley volunteer ambulance service is in major need of air conditioning.
Last week, the air stopped working at the Pearl River Alumni Ambulance Corporation.
EMT's there say, the entire central air system will need to be replaced.
That's expected to cost around $16,000.
Officials say community donations are what helps them operate.
They say air conditioning is essential in doing that.
"It does get very hot out there, some jobs are outdoors especially in the summertime. We're responding to heat emergencies for people who have heat exhaustion or heat stroke, we need to be able to cool down ourselves so we can help the community," says Kylie Costello, who is an EMT with the Pearl River Alumni Ambulance Corporation.
