Jersey Proud: Science HS students selected as state finalists for Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ contest

A team of students from Science Park High School in Newark is set to participate in a nationwide competition.
The students have been selected as one of 300 state finalists throughout the country in Samsung’s "Solve for Tomorrow" contest.
The $3 million national tournament encourages students in grades 6 to 12 to creatively use science, technology, engineering and math skills to solve a community challenge.
The students' project involves extracting cellulose from paper waste and converting it into thread.
The goal is to use the thread to create textiles.
