With summer officially in full swing, The Canvas Experience is offering residents throughout Westchester and the Hudson Valley a one-of-a-kind experience to explore the great outdoors in style. Customers can get the chance to embark on a camping experience, with a twist.

"Everybody's just really thrilled to have a new experience," said Sarah Dale-Olvera, who co-owns the business alongside her husband, Gavino Olvera.

Based in Croton-on-Hudson, the husband-and-wife duo started the canvas experience one year ago, taking the idea of glamorous camping, or ‘glamping,’ to the next level.

"They show up and see that it's just this beautiful bedroom," said Olvera.

The Canvas Experience offers clients a multitude of tent options to rent. From bedrooms to party lounges and dining areas, each tent is curated specifically for each customer.

"I don't think that we've done two tents exactly the same," said Dale-Olvera. "Honestly, we work with each customer and find out what they're hoping for their event, and then we kind of customize it…We'll do lots of different kinds of motifs. From a real sort of camp, camp look to Western to something a little bit more posh."

Over the past year, the Olveras have taken pride in sharing their love of camping with the community, especially introducing the camping world to many in a new way.

"We really had a wish for a long time to help people get back into nature, reconnect and reconnect to themselves and their families and friends," said Dale-Olvera. "The best reaction is when people aren't really into camping and then they say, 'But I would camp in this.' That's the best part: when we can get people out into nature who maybe wouldn't go otherwise."
