The officers, some in dark clothing and glasses to hide their identities after calling out of shifts, are demanding safer working conditions, more security, shorter shifts and the end of the HALT Act.

Mediation between the state and the union that represents New York correction officers entered Day 3 on Wednesday.
The conversation comes as correction officers around the state continue to protest for better working conditions at their prisons.
More than 20 people were counted on the picket line at a protest outside of Sing Sing prison in Ossining on Wednesday.
"Staffing issues and the mandatory overtime that these guys are being mandated to work---those are main priorities," said retired correction officer Israel Sanchez.
Sanchez said the group at Sing Sing has been fighting for these demands for seven days now.
