A multimillion-dollar distribution center for a Hudson Valley food pantry will soon be built in Montgomery – with the help of a state grant.
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and Montgomery officials announced $10 million in state funding Monday, under the CARES program, to help build a 40,000- square-foot warehouse on Route 416.
The facility will eventually replace the food bank’s current location in Cornwall to help meet the increased demand for food, according to Montgomery Supervisor Brian Maher.

“The Town of Montgomery will now be the epicenter for food pantries all over the Hudson Valley,” says Maher. “We are super proud to call this location our home.”
Construction is expected to be finished within the next two years and cost a total of $13 million.
