A Newburgh family is celebrating a decision by the U.S. military to reinstate a wounded Marine.
Sgt. Eddie Ryan was critically hurt in Iraq in 2005 and then dealt a second blow in May when he learned the Marines were retiring him because of his injuries. His family then petitioned the Marine Corps to reconsider.
Despite being reinstated, Ryan will not be returning to active duty.
