No Rockland schools have current plan to switch to remote learning due to COVID

There are currently no schools in Rockland County that have any plans to switch to remote learning due to the pandemic.

While COVID-19's winter surge is underway, Rockland County and its schools are - so far - keeping numbers low.
News 12 looked at positive cases among students in the last seven days in four different districts - all of them continue to be under 1%:
East Ramapo: 0.07%
Nanuet: 0.67%
Clarkstown: 0.54%
Rockland BOCES: 0.24%
There are currently no schools in Rockland County that have any plans to switch to remote learning due to the pandemic.
Across the state, Mid-Hudson schools rank fifth for total cases this fall semester, behind Long Island, New York City, Western New York and the Finger Lakes.
According to the state, there are 192 confirmed cases of the omicron variant, which so far, seems to cause only mild symptoms but is highly contagious.
There are no confirmed cases of the strain in Rockland County, which could be attributed to vaccinations. At least 88% of the population has received at least one vaccine dose and two-thirds of the county's hospitalized COVID cases are unvaccinated.
