Nyack has seen its share of scares lately, including a boil water advisory, heavy flooding and a bear on the loose.
After some residents complained they hadn't heard about the incidents, the village's mayor decided to examine options for streamlining the way people are informed.
Mayor Richard Kavesh says he's considering two bids from reverse 911 companies, which would contact local residents to relay urgent information.
Kavesh says South and Upper Nyack would also share the system, which could be used for snow emergencies and road closures.
The mayor says it could take months to implement a new system.Large black bear spotted in several Nyack neighborhoodsNyack still drying out after last week's flooding15,000 affected by boil water advisory in Nyack
