On the second day of the transit strike, commuters in Orange County are trying to deal with the chaos they have experienced getting in and out of Manhattan.
Most commuters ended up in Penn Station by way of the Path train from Hoboken. Once there, though, it was up to them to figure out how to get to their destinations. Many opted to walk to their jobs in the frigid temperatures.
A state mediator has been brought in to try to negotiate a settlement between the MTA and the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Residents hope the strike will be short-lived. For commuters who are used to waiting, their wait for the transit workers strike to end may test even their patience.
