A federal lawsuit filed by the organization that runs the Pleasantville Cottage School against the Town of Mount Pleasant has been settled.
The JCCA filed the suit last year in response to emergency orders issued by the town supervisor.
Under the agreement signed in April, the organization agrees to follow all applicable state and local laws.
A JCCA spokesperson said that's what the group has done for the past century.
In return, the town will not block the organization from providing services to unaccompanied children under its federal contract.
The town said it is pleased with the settlement but noted a separate lawsuit is still pending in state Supreme Court.
That case challenges the proposed housing of children through the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which the town claims violates local zoning laws.
