A 37-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 26-year-old woman in a Walmart parking lot in Wallkill.
Authorities say Chiyoka Williams attacked the victim around 4:15 p.m. Monday outside the store off Route 211.
The victim is in stable condition. Authorities have not said what sparked the incident.
The attack was the second violent incident to take place at a shopping plaza in Wallkill in recent weeks. Earlier this month, a 23-year-old was fatally shot outside of the Made in Puerto Rico Latin Cuisine & Sports Bar on Schutt Road. Police are still searching for the suspect in that case, who they have identified as 26-year-old Jamaad Murphy.
Police don’t believe there is any connection in the cases.
