Police: High-speed driver identified in fatal Bensonhurst car crash

Police say they have arrested and charged Vitaliy Konoplyov, 47, in the collision that killed two people and hurt five others in Bensonhurst Monday.

Police say they have identified and charged the driver linked to a high-speed car crash in Bensonhurst that left two people dead and several others injured on Monday.
Around 1 p.m. Monday, a white Toyota Camry blew past a red light and crashed into a black car at the intersection of 18th Avenue and 64th Street, then hit a third car. Two people were killed, and four others were rushed to the hospital.
Authorities say the driver of the Toyota Camry, 49-year-old Vitaliy Konoplyov, is now facing several charges that include aggravated unlicensed operator.
Three victims are in critical condition. The other two injured people are expected to recover.
