Police say neighbors in a Haverstraw community found a man's body inside his apartment Thursday morning.

People who live at the home on New Main Street and Maple Avenue say they had not seen the man in a while.

An odor from a downstairs room led them to his unlocked door. That's where neighbors say they saw the man deceseased on his bed.

Haverstraw police were quickly called in and launched an investigation.

Police say natural causes or drugs could have caused the man's death.
