While it may seem harder to find alcohol at the moment due to supply and demand challenges, a local brewery says it has plenty to sell to its customers.

Shipping backups have been forcing liquor store owners to raise prices by about $1 to $2 per bottle.

The Watsons, who run Plan Bee Farm Brewery in Poughkeepsie, hope that the demand will send people to them.

They'd usually be sending their beer to New England and the West Coast, but COVID has slowed distribution so they're keeping more at the farm - and available for pickup seven days a week.

"We have plenty of alcohol," says Emily Watson, of Plan Bee Farm Brewery.

The Watsons and other local producers say they need your help.

They say they sold half the amount in 2020 than they did in 2019, and half of 2020's sales in 2021.

They're adapting by adding weddings to keep money coming in, and they hope more people will turn to shopping local.

Plan Bee Farm Brewery says it keeps its supply chain close, using only New York state products for its beers - another way it's able to beat some of the shortages.

It's not just alcohol in short supply, but bottling materials such as glass and cork, too.

News 12 did go to a liquor store just 10 minutes away from the brewery. Customers there say they're having no trouble finding what they need.
