A Poughkeepsie man is facing charges in an attempted murder last month, authorities say.

Maurice Pearce, 34, was apprehended by police on Tuesday. 

Police say the Dec. 7 stabbing happened on the 400 block of Main Street. The victim sustained multiple stab and slash wounds.

Pearce has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Pearce is currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
