Security was tight Wednesday at the arraignment for suspects accused in a Wallkill bar shootout that left one man dead.

Corey Inniss and five other men are accused of participating in the violent gunfight that took the life of 28-year-old Jamar Nelson, of Middletown, at K.J.'s Restaurant and Taproom Saturday. Authorities believe an altercation escalated into gunshots, which injured bar employees, before spilling onto the street. When police arrived, they say they found Nelson dead near the door of the bar. Inniss, who suffered two gunshot wounds, allegedly fled with friends in a car and was picked up a short time later. Wallkill police say the received numerous calls from people who claim they heard Nelson?s family was planning to retaliate against Inniss in court. Due to the threat, the SWAT team and state police blanketed the courthouse. Many in the community say they believe the fight was over a woman. All the men were sent back to jail after the arraignment. Only the suspected driver of the vehicle, Anthony Barbosa, made bail.
