Community members in Rockland are uniting in solidarity for the LGBTQ community after anti-gay graffiti was discovered on the county's pride center.
The Loft is celebrating a $1,500,000 grant secured by former Rep. Mondaire Jones, who became the first openly gay Black member of Congress two years ago.
The executive director tells News 12 that the money is being used to help relocate The Loft to a bigger facility in downtown White Plains.
She says it'll include an affordable housing project, where a percentage of the units will be reserved for LGBTQ seniors.

The new building will break ground sometime later this year.
