Rockland County is having a gun buyback event on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco III says the department will be buying all firearms from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church at #245 N. Main St. in Spring Valley.
Here are some of the amounts that you can get gift cards for:
  • Assault rifle - $250
  • Handgun - $150
  • Rifle or shotgun - $75
  • Non-working - $25
  • Antique gun - $25
“Senseless gun violence continues to plague our county, state and the entire nation. Any firearms that we can remove from our streets can potentially prevent them from being used in criminal and other violent acts that negatively impact our communities. I am proud to partner with all of Rockland County law enforcement in our ongoing efforts to keep the people safe,” says Sheriff Falco.
Guns can be turned in anonymously -- no identification is required and no questions asked. They ask you transport any gun unloaded in the trunk of your car.
