A Nyack hair salon that went out of business in February amid an economic crisis has reopened in Nanuet.
Kevin Hemp, the owner of Temple 1 Hair and Nail Salon, was forced to shutter his business when he could no longer afford the rent. Eight months later, he is back to grooming his clients on Route 59 in Nanuet.
"He's a cool guy," says Kippy Weinrauch, of Nyack. "I need a cool guy to cut my hair."
Hemp says his time spent as a soldier was easier than rebuilding his business amid a recession, but he's not turning back now.
"Never throw the towel in too early," he says.
