A Spring Valley man who avoided deportation two weeks ago just lost his battle and was shipped out to Haiti--a country he's never stepped foot in.
Paul Pierrilus was born in French St. Martin in the Carribean to Haitian parents. He was brought to the island at the age of five.
Pierrilus eventually became a financial consultant and was in regular contact with ICE before he was detained.
Rep. Mondaire Jones helped save Pierrilus from deportation two weeks ago and is now trying to get him back.
"This is untenable, and I think we are seeing through this case study. This is the inhumane activity in ICE and the people who work at ICE and the deportation space. So there must be accountability," says Jones.
Jones says he is working on legal means to bring Pierrilus back to the U.S.
