More than fifty volunteers went under the clippers Sunday at this year's St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser in Bronxville.
A crowd of nearly 300 cheered as Yonkers police officers, PBA union leaders and participants from Stepinac High School took part in the event to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.
Yonkers Police Sgt. Patrick Breen, who died from throat cancer in December, was also fondly remembered.
"He was a spearhead in the St. Baldrick's Day a few years ago. We want to keep his memory and him alive forever here in Yonkers and the Westchester area," said Breen's uncle Mike O'Donnell.
“You should 1,000% consider doing it," said Yonkers Police Officer Nicholas Coelho, who had his head shaved during the event.
An initial fundraising goal of $50,000 has already been surpassed. With donations still coming in, money raised has topped $75,000.
